The Samuel A. Law papers contain an abundance of diverse material that relates to Law's personal and business affairs. Included are printed materials, correspondence, accounting records, maps, land surveys, legal documents, newspaper clippings, diaries, and political broadsides. Law's accounting records deal primarily with his activities as a land agent in the Delaware County region. Most accounts are individual sheets detailing the accounts of individuals with Law. Several accounts deal with Law's saw-mill and agricultural activities as well as his mercantile business. Also included are ledgers and journals containing similar financial information. Among the legal documents are leases, agreements and bonds. Particularly interesting are agreements made between Law and individuals he hired to work on his farm. Also among these papers are the agreements between Law and the land owners for whom he acted as agent.
